The square behind Ostbahnhof, once the city’s main station: a forgotten, desolate place? A place of passage? We turn our attention to what our gaze usually passes over and follow the bizarre aesthetics of everyday life. Traces, cracks, and edges lead us to the snack-stand owners who make their living on this square. What occupies them? How do they make sense of their daily routines?

A contrast between imagination, humour, and the hardships of existence—a portrait of life on the square that points to all of our lives in this world.
